Sorry, lol, I should have spelled "coach" as "couch".
I thought if I found the subwoofer, and it was similar in size then it might be a good location for the new subwoofer. Maybe, maybe not. I've removed the LifeStyle and the Insivi???? whatever, that they called the amplifier. I know what you mean about the sound is not well positioned if the radio is connected to the sound bar so the other option was to run speaker wire up into the cabinet above the driver's head from the radio outputs and since the wiring is already run to 5 speakers, use that wiring with new speakers unless the bose speakers will handle the line outs from the radio. That's something I'll experiment with. I've read that the bose speakers will play the lines out of other radios ok, but I've also heard they will not.
I just wanted to clarify, regarding the position of your sound bar, it extends below the cabinets but it's rear surface is flush with the facing of the cabinets so that it's depth (mine is about 3 inches in depth extends INTO the living? Or are you saying the front of the sound bar is located entirely under the cabinet and not protruding out into the living space? What sort of strapping did you use to attach it?
