I have one that will probably last a long time. I built it out of a formed Lexan "bubble" and solvent welded flat Lexan onto it to form the sides. I can raise it further than a typical RV vent and the old fan works but that is on the replacement schedule.
I like your take on the Fantastic fan and vent being able to exchange a lot of air quickly. That can be the definer between comfortable and barely enduring. I do have two vents so I may go that route.
