Body Spa Oxygenics Shower Head

Has anyone used the oxygenics shower head with your water pump when dry camping? Does it work well with the pump or only when hooked up to water? Looking to save water and still get a decent shower when dry camping.

Thanx in advance.
  • I switched to an Oxygenics shower head a few years ago and its great.

The reason I switched was to save water when camping without hookups. I was not interested in how quickly I could fill a bucket, but in how little water I could use and still get a descent shower. I use much less water with the Oxygenics than I did with the OEM shower head. Wife likes it too.

For me, the bucket test is meaningless.
  • i did the bucket test as well. the oxygenics filled a gallon bucket twice as fast as my stock unit. Wife liked the stock unit better and so do I. I know all units are different and there are many variables but in my case I can take a longer shower with my stock unit and the pressure is just fine.
  • I guess I have lower pressure or a lower flow standard shower head. I think I will stick with what I have. I do a lot of camping without access to water so the amount used for a shower is important.

I estimated the shower portion was not much over one gallon. That would be well less than a minute according to your measurements.

I too did a quick bucket test a few weeks ago, with the Oxygenics vs the old shower in the Jayco.

Bucket was a half gallon, Oxygenics filled it in about 30 seconds.

After seeing all the posts on how good the Oxygenics shower head is and someone asked to run a side by side bucket test.I thought I might.(yes I'm that bored)

As a disclamer, I have a Oxygenics shower head and am very pleased with it. It is powerful and does a much better job,as far as I'm concerned, and it takes less time to shower and rinse. I REALLY LIKE IT.As where the original one puts out a weak spray and takes forever to shower and rinse.

Now for the test. This was done with my on board water and stock water pump, your results may vary.Using my original shower head...... With both Hot and Cold on full.

The old one took 2 Minutes 10 seconds to fill the 3 Gallon bucket.

The Oxygenics took 2 Minutes 30 seconds to fill the 3 Gallon bucket.

    ........

Something does not seem right. When I was desert camping and conserving water, my total water consumption for cooking, drinking, dish washing, and a shower was 3 gallons per day. I estimated the shower portion was not much over one gallon. That would be well less than a minute according to your measurements.
  • We use ours on our pump, it is a great improvement to the original shower head.
  • Wouldn't be without it. Been using one years. The pressure is, of course, a little better when on City water, but works almost as well off the pump.
  • Had one, my wife didn't care for it, can't say I thought it was all it was hyped up to be either, so I put the original back in and sold the Oxy. YMMV. ;)
  • Thanks. My husband is fine with the regular shower but I have long hair so it does take forever to rinse out.

I used a 3 Gallon bucket for the test. With both Hot and Cold on full.

I will let the math wizards figure that out.

I know that the time is not much different BUT the strength of the flow on the Oxygenics is so much better I seem to take a Shorter, Quicker and more Refreshing shower.
