Hi All,I just bought my first Toy Hauler (used) and am going full timing for a year or so to see how I like it. Before hitting the road, I am removing the booth type dinette and the existing love seat/hid-abed and putting in a full size comfy couch with recliners. I thought it would be fairly straight forward. Couch came right out, Table and holders did the same. I removed all the screws on the seat that sits against the slide wall and it is secured at the very top somehow to the wall. I cant see any screws but it is most definitely secured. I obviously don't want to just rip it out as I would prefer not to do damage repair as well. Can someone please help me out here?Thanks.

Without pictures it is difficult to say. Might try a powerful magnet around the area where it seems to be secured, to help locate screws. If upholstered, screws might be hidden in upholstery.

Sure!Campers are built from the inside out. The booth was set in place before the walls went up. So the booth is screwed from the outside inward. (opposite than what you'd do in a house with the wall in place first.The only way to get them out is to rip it out. Yes, you run the risk to damaging the walls, and then, the screw heads are still stuck inside the wall and the screw point is poking through the wall at YOU. You'll need to pull those screws out, which will leave larger holes for the screw heads to come out.There's no easy way. Remember, everything is built from the inside out. Cabinets are installed the same way. Screwed from the back side inward.

Good idea Johno02, i will give that a try. I felt around the top and bottom of the upholstered valance (for lack of a better term) and didn't feel anything. I will try that then send pic's if it doesn't. But there is just a very thin strip across the top part of the backing. Not sure how they would get screws into it.

I was just gonna post THE answer but see by the above that the OP has been in absentia for a week. Would be nice to know if he resorted to a sledge hammer or figured it out.

In cases like this, photos can help a lot...

Does the bottom of the seat - the part the cushion rests on, come off? Mine has holes to insert your finger to pull on. Maybe the screws are in there - but I have to agree the Dutchmansport is most likely correct because I tried to remove my medicine cabinet, and it would not budge.

If all else fails, try sliding a thin hacksaw blade behind it and see if you can find the screws. If so, then wrap one end of the blade with tape to make a handle, then slide the blade in and cut the screws. In tight spaces, the bare blade is a lot easier to use than a power saw. try to post pictures so we can tell what exactly you have to work with.

Sorry - didn't mean to make it sound like the outside of the trailer, the components are attached through the interior paneling from the outside before the insulation and outer skin, whatever it may be, are installed.

"Screwed" from outside may be the way an aluminum skinned trailer is put together, but not a fiberglass or smooth side!! Don't see any screws going in from the outside except for outside stuff!!

So if op has a glass sided trailer, he should be looking inside!!

Yep - I worked for a trailer manufacturer in a past life... it it's attached to the walls is more likely attached from the outside.

Look for a matching color seam tape along the dinette wall next to the outer wall. A lot of mfgs screw the wall at the top (under the cap) and at an angle into the wall along the side. Yours may not be that way, but maybe. Tape covers the screw holes and heads, and is pretty un-noticeable until you look close.

Did you try to lift it? There may be a J bar that holds the top in, once it's secured to the floor the top won't move either.
