Broke a faucet handle... Replace handle or faucet?

I would go with the Home Depot or Lowes. It is not that complicated. In the previous posts the adaption with the neatly soldered copper pipe is not that difficult. However, we are in the 21st century and pex pipe. You don't see much copper in new homes any more. Most RVs now use all pex. If fauset is not a direct fit a length of pex pipe a $14 tool and couple of clamps would have it modified easily. Good experience will be gained.

This might help you make up your mind what you want to do.

Oh my gosh another plumbing project, you guys are going to think that these are my most favorite projects, It could not be further from the truth, plumbing is my lest favorite thing to do. Inevitability I have leaks.

The kitchen faucet has been needing attention, the white plastic was faded, the faucet did not turn smoothly, when you turned the water on water would run down the valve, and the valve was not centered.



So out it comes, I did not stop to take pictures of the plumbing mess under the sink, serfice it to say that every fitting available at Home Depot has been used and several different pipe materials.



So now we have a hole in the sink that needs to be filled.



So I go to read the instruction and the only instructions are some pictures, with no written instructions at all. As you can see this is a name brand manufacturer but I gues they think Americans cannot rear any more (Moen).



The first problem is the hole in the sink is to small to except the faucet.



So how to enlarge the hole, well time for some testosterone. I pulled out the die grinder and enlarged the hole.



It left a little bit of a ruff edge, but a file smoothed that out just fine and now a test fit.



I eliminated a number of redundant hoses and connections and clamped the pipes to the wall, it still looks messy, but much better than it did. (sure wish I had taken a before shot)



The hardest part of this project was getting my small body into this large space.



It works and amazingly there were no leaks.



So I must have crawled into this spot a 100 times and made a 100 trips to the tool box to get all the tools to do this job.



I can almost guarantee you that the next project will NOT be plumbing.

I changed out both kitchen and bathroom sink faucets with ones in the style, color, finish, we wanted by Moen. Got them at Home Depot. Straight replacement....connected right up.

For me it was easier to pull sinks, flip them over, do the change out and the reinstall the sinks..........lot more room to work.

So much better than those cheap OEM RV faucets

Having just replaced the one in my bathroom I would go with the RV type that CW has or This one
It is pretty easy if you have done one in a house,I found that the ones made for home use did not have the right fittings for RV use, as the one that is RV specific, this made it a lot easier.

Upgrade to something nice. Go Home Depot or Lowes and buy a nice faucet and put it in. If anyone likes to wash their hair under a faucet, go with a high profile style.

Shut off water pump
Open faucet to relive pressure
Go under cabinet with a flash light and towel
Remove thumb nut type fittings from faucet. Note hot or cold
Remove two thumb type flange nuts that hold the fixture
Clean sink faucet area
Install new faucet
Install supply lines back on faucet
Turn on water and check for leaks
Clean up spilled water

I replaced the kitchen faucet in our RV a while back. Did not get the "RV" type, just went to Lowe's and picked up one. I feel the ones made for home are a bit higher quality. The new one works so much easier than the "RV" one that came new ever did. Very happy with the replacement. I think you will likely be happier with a new one too.

as you stated it is in the bathroom. the sink is smaller and easier to get to the nuts that hold the faucet in and the water lines on. take out the old one before you buy so you can get a similar replacement. you can get a faucet at home depot or wally world that will work I'm sure

I would replace it with faucet of your choice from Home Store. Usually much better quality than replacement from rv store and you can get the style and price point you want.

You didn't say if it's a kitchen or bath faucet, but both can typically be replaced with standard items from one of the big box stores. The actual R&R is no different than doing a residential fitting in most cases. If you've never changed a residential faucet either, then as said, calling in pro may be your best bet. As the saying goes for RV ownership, "Handy with tools, handy with your wallet, take your pick."

My fixtures are by Moen. Lifetime warranty. When something goes wrong/breaks, I just call Moen and they send whats needed.
Maybe you can find your make in some of the literature that you got with the RV.
