bset upgrade so far

I bought a new Max Brake brake controller last year and never seemed to find the time to put it in. My Prodigy worked fine but I heard good things about the Max Brake and saw a T.V. show called trucks and they installed one on a truck and raved about it. Well I took it for a test drive today and all I have to say it is the best brake controller I have ever used. The braking is awesome. I was never able to lock up the brakes on my trailer since I bought it 8 years ago. Braking is so smooth and reacts with the truck perfectly, no more jerking at low speeds and I am not afraid of trying to stop now. The only problem now is I think they went out of business. I looked up the website and they are not their anymore, a new one called Direct Link comes up, what a shame, I know a few people that want one now but they are gone. I guess the 350.00 was too much for many people to afford for safe braking and they could not make a go of it.

  • We have a Brakesmart controller and love it. The Prodigy works just fine, but there is a world of difference in the 'feel' of the direct controllers. Great upgrade!
  • yes it is the one with the pressure sensor and I think they went out of business
  • Is that the one that has a pressure sensor plumed into the truck hydraulics? I have read great things about them but they are hard to find to purchase.

I could not find one to buy so I just installed a direclink controller in my truck and have not had a chance to test it yet.
