Can I replace 12v light switches with 110v house switches?

I am sure this has been asked, but I have found little to no info on the internet. Can I replace 12v light switches with 110v house switches? 1. To save money 2. I like the look of a clean, white...

You probably don't have to mount the household switch in a box, 12v is not as dangerous as 110v. I would cover the exposed connections with some electrical tape just in case something came in contact with the connection screws.
