Carpet Replacement Question

We are willing to do the rip up of our carpet in our A, but don't feel comfortable laying new stuff, with the slides. So if anyone can recommend someone in the Toronto - Niagara ish area (or Buffalo possibly) that can do an install, we'd love to hear. We did call one person, but they won't give us a price. They "don't know" how much it will cost to install. This wouldn't be their first install (going by their info), so I don't know how they can't give a ballpark at least.

In my experience it has been two people for two days if the old has been removed and some prep done by the owner. Both included the living room and bedroom of a motorhome with two slides. Both had some trim work to do mostly in the bedroom. I have seen from 800 to 1500 area for labour by pros depending on what you are doing. Hope this helps. Happy renovating.

  • I doubt any installer is going to quote a price over the phone or by email. There are just too many variables, including an owner tearout. If he did and it was a low price, I'd be very sceptical. Since you plan to do the tearout, why not have an installer meet you at that time for a quote? It may prove that he can give you some ideas to make it easier or more complete.
