Carrier air V thermostat relocation

I have a carrier air v roof unit in my 2008 savoy lx. The thermostat has gone out on the unit so i'd like to convert it to a regular wall thermostat. Right now it is still wired the factory way with the remote control but I am looking for any pointers to deciding what wires do what. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Details are in that service manual I linked to.

Yes they are. Look at Figure 1.7 for the schematic depicting the location of the plate tags with Model and Serial number. There are two, one for the interior unit and one for the top unit.

  • Thanks. I would really like to find a way to put a wall thermostat in. I know this will be a pain in the butt. but for future repairs and reliability i would like to avoid dumping money into the unit itself. I can't seem to find the model number for my unit. does anyone know where i should be looking? I have the unit apart inside and I've been on the roof and looked and cannot find it.
