change out apollo microwave OTR oven

My apollo halftime OTR microwave/convection oven has
finally and completely quit working. I can't find a microwave/convection to replace it so I'm just going with an under the counter microwave. I was wondering if anybody knows how the Apollo is mounted to the wall or where I may locate an installation manual for the apollo. Knowing this information would help me with picking a new oven.RV repair man tells me I need to build a shelf to hold the new microwave. I believe that a new oven could be mounted just like the apollo is.
  • @colliehauler, I have seen the metal shelves. Not sure how to secure the microwave when driving. That my be my only option.
  • As others have said, the problem with replacing the Apollo is finding something with similar dimensions. I have one in my Class B that is only partially functional and I've looked for replacements. My problem isn't width as much as depth. Sharp makes some nice units that would fit and they even made a trim kit for them allowing for a built-in installation. Sadly they stopped making the trim kit. The microwave units appear to be nearing EOL since they're now available at places like Walmart for next to nothing.
  • You should find 4 bolts that go into the top of the Apollo from the cabinet above it. When they are removed the unit will pivot forward from a J hook bracket mounted on the wall behind it.

Were you able to find any oven that was the same width as the Apollo? Mine is still working so far, but I will be faced with this eventually.
  • Good luck finding one. It's not as wide as a residential model and that's what I ran into. Yes it's mounted to the wall. After searching for a Appolo replacement I built a shelf used steel instead of wood since it was over the stove. I purchased a convection microwave for the shelf.
