Collapsible/Folding Plastic Crate

Looking for suggestions on what brand and where to get them, more than "google is your friend" answer. I want a quality crate, we had some for 10+ yrs. when they finally were tossed we didn't get any mfg info off them.

I ordered what I thought was the same on-line and we quickly realized they were cheap & no comparison. I don't want to spend my money playing Russian roulette & ordering from pretty pics on-line. Real life experiences would be swell.

Thanks in advane.
  • Can you clarify what is a quality crate?

I have a this small black one that is like a serving tray to carry things out to the table, the sides collapse so it stores flat.

  • i had a nice heavy thick plastic gray one, i think came from ikea
  • We have bought some great crates at the Container World. Had many of them for over ten years. Only ever broke one (I drove over it, LOL).
  • I don't how much hard use yours get, but we have always been happy with the ones form Camping World.
  • I will agree that folding crates are available at many price and strength points.

I inherited several folding legal-file size crates that came with metal bar inserts for file use and were generally designed to be stacked heavy half a dozen high. A delight to use in the van.

I found similar sizes at various places. The Walmart version was quite inexpensive but obviously had about half the strength.

I did locate a source of my kind at The Container Store and will be buying more there.
  • Hey. I "Amazoned it" for you. We have three of THESE. They are fairly sturdy. Not like milk crates but they hold up well.
