crates in TT

For those of you that have larger dogs requiring larger crates, how do you find room in the TT for the crate? We have a boxer/American bulldog mix puppy that we are crate training. While he doesn't really need a crate as large as our 42" crate yet, he will need a large crate someday. As tight as TT are on room, what is your solution? I know that given a chance this little guy will eat anything, he even tried to eat a wall when DH wasn't looking today.... yes this will calm with age and training but in the meantime, I don't want my TT destroyed, so a crate is a must during the night and if left alone for even a short period.

ps I have a bunk bed Floorplan with sofa and dinette on the slide. tight master up front and itty bitty bath next to skinny bunks in back.

    If you have a dinette, you could take the table out and put the crate there. There's only so much room. Something has to give.

    thought about that and nicer weather that will work and maybe the only option.

    If you do not use the back bunk can you completely remove it or at least the mattress then put down some heavy plastic to set the crate on?

    We don't have a dog at the moment but have had cocker spaniels.

    If the bunk idea is out then what about removing the sofa? You would really miss the table I would think but with the sofa gone you would have room for the crate and a bit extra for his dishes.

    I put mine under the table, fits great. I just have to remember to put a piece of cardboard between the crate and the cushions. The Chocolate Lab has got mad in the past and has pulled the cushions in and chewed them. JMT

    We had to remove our sofa to make room for a crate while on a month long trip. The crate was fairly large + we had space for a stressless chair which we added for trip. Our current camper doesnt have a removable couch so very glad our dog is beyond the crate stage. It might be possible to remove your table top and 1 dinette cushion & place the crate on 1 side of dinette leaving you bench space on the other half. That was our 2nd option.

    We have a rear living room and removed one of the chairs. Now that Duke is trustworthy and no longer requires a crate the DH has a beer fridge in that spot. Really is nice to have the extra fridge space.

    well basically there is easy answer. And yes we need the bunk for dd who is still unable to get to the top bunk. I might just try getting a playpen and setting it up in the middle of the at night to hold him. Anyone try this?
