Day night shades

I ordered replacement shades for my 2008 allegro, ordered them from Tiffin.
Does anyone know of a good video or article about how to remove the old ones and install the new ones?
I've poked around here and on YouTube but come up short.

Thx
  • On ours we just used a screw drive to release the clip and tilt them up. We have restrung most of ours using 50 pound test fishing string and will never have to restring them again.

No you don't have to take the valance down. You don't want to unscrew and have to re-screw back in anything you don't need to in an RV wall.
Read the above post how to locate clips.

There are clips that are way up under the valance. Hard to find, can't see them etc etc. It is frustrating but just take your time! :W

BUT once you find them with your fingers it's an easy out and easy in to replace your shades.

  • Ours were installed without clips, they just ran a screw through up into the header. So how to remove will vary. If used, the clips are simple.
  • I've restrung a number of day/night shades, and as I recall, they all released from their mounting brackets by pressing spring clips behind the window side of the shade header towards the window and tilting the header down and away from the window. You should be able to see the clips with a small mirror if you can't feel them. Installation is just the reverse, slip them on the front of the clips and rotate up until they lock in.
