Once you figure out how to remove them, renovation is fairly easy. You can buy the cord, and it usually comes with istructions on how to string them. We have done several, it is best to work on a large dining table. Depending on her color ideas, google "RV Shades" to find out what is available, or she might try dyeing the existing material. As the material is designed to resist stains, the dye process may be adventuresome.

If she wants to darken them and they are in the ivory/beige type coloring, black tea works - black coffee might too - never tried that on anything.
