The brass ring is soft & wears rapidly causing sharp edges on it that will fray the rope. After fewer than 100 pulls on the starter, mine broke. I'd like to know what you did to mod the hole so it won't cut cut through again. I've replaced the rope once and the second is showing signs of were.
