Dying carpet
We have 14 year old Teton 5-wheel white carpet shows stains that will not shampoo out. Carpet in good shape. Would we be able to dye the carpet and make it look good? Any advice on what to use and how to do dying? Thanks Paul

- Tow to a carpet store. and let them install it? Remove any items on carpet.

I hate to admit this, but my mom covered up an old carpet in her TT with .... (drumroll).... vinyl tiles. Yuck!
-Speak- Detailers use Rit dye and a spray bottle. I wouldn't try it on a white carpet, there is too much room for error. Replacing it with a better type and color of carpet is one alternative. Another alternative is to replace with a hard surface floor covering.
- Some have posted on here using Rit Dye as west said and were satisfied with the results. The post are probably in the archives. From what I remember if you go from a light color to a dark color dye you will get better results. The Dye is cheap if you don't like the results you can always remove it and install vinyl or Pergo type floors. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

RVs have dirt cheap carpet, couple that with 14 yrs of age and it is time to remove and replace with a BETTER grade or different flooring.
You HAVE gotten your moneys worth out of it and then some.
Installers will simply cut around furniture, cabinets and other stuff that can't be moved then lay down carpet strips and have at it with the stretcher..westend wrote:

^^This. Vinyl tiles is probably the easiest to install and to clean. The carpet is (likely) cut around the furniture and appliances, so there is nothing to remove other than the carpet itself.
