When I was new at camping, I admit I used to use the jumper wire to light up my parking lights. We often camped in groups with four or five other families clustered together, and soon everyone in the group was running their parking lights too.
One night I discreetly snuck over to my friends trailer and swapped in a flasher in place of the jumper wire, and we got a few laughs watching him walk around the trailer and checking his fuse box trying to figure out what was wrong.
These days, I carry a small jumper wire which includes a resistor, so I am able to light up the parking lights in a very dim glow. Enough to make my trailer recognizable amongst the crowded campground, but not Bright enough to be annoying.
