This is how you have your trailer's clearance lights turn on when you are parked and disconnected from the tow vehicle. I also posted this elsewhere.

It gives you emergency flashing lights for your trailer if you have to leave it on the side of the highway at night.

Yes, but a real annoyance in a campground, even just lighting them up, as stated by many before why go camping then have all the bright lights of the trailer.
