You can still do it- just with a bit more kludge. Use a 24 volt transformer and separate relays- the thermostat drives the new relays which ground out the correct circuits on the board- or you could replace the board in the a/c with the DuoTherm park model setup- I think (don't take this as gospel), which uses an on board transformer.
