Thanks, Chris.
So, options seem to be:
1) pull out my Dometic control board and replace it with a park model board (which I assume is more standardized and uses 12V power?)
2) Power the unit with it's full 24V via an external 24V transformer. Whereby I'd have +24VAC going to RC/RH, and -24VAC going to C. Then, intercept the return wires coming from Y W G and place an inline relay on each?
Option 2 seems like the more interesting route.
New to the concept of relays, but that is also what Ecobee presented as a possible option. Just either need to do a bunch of reading to verse myself on them, or find someone better versed than I in the side of it.

Is this the idea? Whereas 24v would be from whatever lead (eg Y for cooling) coming off the tstat and go to the trigger lead, and 'input' would be my ground source currently connected to the Dometic, and my 'output' being the Y wire heading back to the aircon control board.
Sorry, not looking for you to teach me the basis of electronics, just want to clarrify that I'm pointed in the correct direction.
I'll order up the Ecobee and can just do some bench testing to make sure all the power is doing the right things before hooking it into the unit.
Thanks for renewing my hopes on this project. I'm very fixated on trying to make happen - likely to a fault lol.
Any other ideas please let me know.
