Hmmm. I like the idea of somehow tapping into my furnace. We rarely run it, but I bet we will use it a lot more in anything less than 15 degree weather. The only problem is that there is no ducting and no register -- the trailer is so small that the furnace just sits under the counter and blows directly into the room through a metal screen. Not sure how I would divert that airflow.
The advantage, of course, is that we can run the furnace as long as we have propane -- no need for hookups for the heat tape. But of course, the furnace also uses power, so that is not a perfect solution.
Assuming I can figure out how to divert the airflow, I wonder if we can run the furnace while towing, so things don't freeze up while we are on the road? I would imagine that if you are towing at zero degrees Fahrenheit (a likely scenario in the far north), things would freeze up pretty fast while in transit.
