The front roof seam on my Toyota RV where the fiberglass and aluminum meet needs attention. I poked around the net and Eternabond is talked about often. Nobody in the area seems to carry Eternabond, Camping World has some different choices, but expensive.I stopped by Home Depot and they do not seem to have an equivalent or clone.I stopped at Mobile HOme Depot and they carry a couple different roof tapes, one of which is MFM peel an seal. Reading the directions for Eternabond and MFM they appear to be the same thing? Except Eternabond is $55 for a 4"X50' roll and MFM is $15 for a 4"X35' roll. You can buy it a bit cheaper on Amazon:AmazonOr they have 4 foot rolls for $10 you could buy 2 of those. The other stuff may be as good or it may not. If you want to be the guinea pig try it and let us know how it worked for you. In my opinion, it's a good idea to have a roll of Eternabond on hand for one of those unexpected emergencies when you are 100 miles from the nearest RV store.

Both Amazon and eBay sellers have shorter lengths for sale. But when I compared prices a couple weeks ago, I went ahead and bought a whole 50' roll. I'll never miss the extra few bucks, and who knows when I might need a little more of it... now I have it on hand.

You can buy it a bit cheaper on Amazon:

The Amazon is 2.3" compared to the $55 4".

Buy the 4x50 roll, you may need it in the future and can be used for other things.

When looking for Eternabond I did not see anyone selling small pieces, if I had I would have ordered one and thought nothing of it.

But as I looked around I began to suspect this is the same material used on my Lanai roof. Which does not cost $20 for a 4"X10' piece. Plus there are several others out there that all appear to be the same thing.

A little further search showed people using Peal&Seal with no issues. Plus MFM has been in business for 50 years where Eternabond has been around since 99.

So I bought the Peal&Seal will report back in several years on how it holds up.

We used Eternabond on our 1999 Winnebago after us and the dealer trying to fix a leak. Finally, we got smart and used Eternabond. When we sold it last year, it still didn't leak! We figure it was 12 years of not leaking or having to recaulk was more than worth it. Do apply it correctly.

Go with the Eternabond.

When you are talking about protecting a RV worth $$$$ why try to save a few dollars. Eternabond is the real thing...and it works.

Eight years ago my Winnebago fiberglass roof popped out of the aluminum track on the full length of driver’s side. I had not realized that they required periodic reseal maintenance. I as able to re-insert the fiberglass into the track and an RV repair service suggested Eternabond. I installed a 4” wide strip of Eternabond the full length of the roof (30’), pressed it to the roof fiberglass and around the aluminum track. Since then the only thing that has happened to it is tornado damage that poked a couple holes in it and a few scrapes on its surface covering. If installed correctly it really does the job.
