Exterior speakers and selector switches

Hi all I'm in the process of adding outdoor speakers to my trailer and I need some help on how I should wire my speakers.
I will have three zones in my set up, front, rear and outside. I want be able to control each zone separately. Currently I have my 12 volt stereo hooked up to my front and rear speakers, my outdoor speakers will be powered by two channel amplifier. To control the outdoor speakers I will use remote lead on the amplifier to turn this on or off, this will be a lit switch and I will not use the deck power I will just use the power feeding the deck control the switch.
My question is, can I use a lit switch to control my front and rear speakers separately or do I just need to use open close switches and forget about the lit switch? In total I will have three switches, each switch will control each zone.
For those of you who want to condone me on having outdoor speakers please don't, I'm just looking to add a little ambience not upset my neighbors!
  • I wired our front speaker output to the factory installed inside speakers and the rear output to the outside speakers. I use a remote volume controls for the inside/outside speakers... the inside volume control is conveniently mounted inside, the outside control is inside a door accessible from the outside. If I don't want to hear one set, I turn it down all the way.

    Happy Camping!
    John.

I can understand that you want outside speakers OK. A simple A/B speaker selector switch would allow you to add another pair into the system. But you say your outside speakers will have their own amp. So are we to assume your using the preamp outputs from the trailer's stereo head unit to feed this second amp? Neither option would require separate switches or light up switches.

The amps feed is coming from Pre amp (RCA) wires on the deck. My inside front and rear speakers are ran from my decks speaker wires.
I want the switches so that I can turn off each zone independly. For example, kids are sleeping in the trailer and we have their lullabies playing, I would lke to turn off my out side speakers to keep Bobbo happy. And if Bobbo is going to sleep and is all wound up because my 3 and 1 year old were to loud a 6:00 am I can turn on my outdoor speakers with the lullabies to help him go to sleep. I'm not ready for bed yet and know that the lullabies will put me to sleep so i turn of the front ( bed room) speakers to watch a movie. The reason for the lights on the switches is to know if the zone is turned on.
