fantastic fans

I am in the process of installing a new fantastic fan over the bed. Have to keep DW happy you know. it is so hot today, the putty came off without much of a hassle. used a push rod from my RC airplane supplies to fish the wires. just have to put the fan into the hole line it up and put the screws in then put the Dicor on the screw heads and around the flange.Boy with the heat, climbing up and down and all the other, my blood sugars hit bottom. I don't even know how I made it off the roof. I walked like I was drunk. headed for the house and DW got me a glass of OJ. then made my lunch. I am beginning to think she cares about me again. wish me luck so I can make it long enough to do all the right steps. LOL

  • This from another older guy from Oregon. Now that you are better, I'll invite you and your wife over when I need my roof cleaned....;). Seriously, I'm glad all worked out and I agree, your wife does love you.
  • We recently had that same issue. However, my husband has a lot of problems with his back and leg. He really didn't want to get up and down off the roof and I am afraid of heights. Usually our daughter comes over and cleans the roof once a year and does the inspections. We ordered off of Ebay a Vortex fan. All the installation is done from the underside. We fished the wire from the light about 1 foot from the vent. Worked really well. It isn't a Fantastic fan but it does the job well enough. I think it was about 75 dollars.
  • See how smart the woman you married is, where else would she get the fan installed for just a glass of OJ?
  • I thought that was why we had kids. Aren't they supposed to do the work on the rood while you direct from a chair on the ground? That's how it works around here. BTW, my kids are in their mid-20's and are very good about helping out and still go camping with us.
  • Know how you feel old guy :) one old guy to another old guy named old guy.

Lemme know how the FF works for you...me DW wants some air in the front suite also.
Was there plenty of wire in the ceiling to get hold of for hook-up?
  • I got stuck on the roof of our last Class A. I had the keys in my pocket. So I hit the panic button to get the DW attention. She never heard it but all my neighbors did.
  • I also am in Oregon,, also working on my trailer,, BUT I wait till it cool off a bit in the evening or first thing in the morning. You will LOVE your fantastic fan,, have one in our trailer and it pulls lots of air.
  • old guy --- you gotta quit pushing it like that!!!!!! I'll guarantee you, your wife DOES care about you....after all, she'd have had to pay to have someone install that fan!!!!!! :) :) We got ours in a couple of months ago Went into the 5er yesterday to prepare for trip and it was HOT. Opened 2 small windows at other end, turned on the fan and HOLY COW......felt like we were in a wind tunnel (well -- almost). :) It cooled the place off fast!!!!!!
