Fence Post Mod - For water hose storage etc?

Hi folks,

I've been researching in preparation to do the fence post mod, as mentioned here:

https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27690434

Initially i'm going to attach one to the frame on the underside of my trailer in order to store my rhino flex sewer hose and accessories.

But... i was thinking it would be nice if i could move my water hoses and maybe some other smaller items into some additional fence posts installed along side the one for sewer hoses.

Has anyone ever stored a water hose in one of these? Just wondering if it would even work, or would i just end up damaging the hose. I've tried searching around for other mentions of using them for this purpose but so far no matches.

Anyone have any other suggestions on what these could be used to store aside from sewer/water hoses?

Thanks very much for any and all help. :)

  • Nice! Lots of good ideas here.

As for water hoses, sounds like that is not a good option. I was thinking this might work if i had some super flexible hoses, like the Flexzilla hose, or maybe the Teknor Zero-G hose.
  • Don't forget fishing poles ( with reels removed ). That is what we use ours for but it is 4" round not a square fence post.
  • Sewer hose, collapsible ladder, flag/cleaning poles, coiled air hoses, tree limb saw, antenna mast, rugs and anything else that will fit in a 5" square tube.

BTW Caps are also available for the fence posts.
  • I've done sewer hoses and patio rugs but you'd have to put some sharp bends in a water supply hose.
  • I have read posts of people storing out door mats rolled up in these and a collapsible ladder in another. Probably could do wiener sticks and fire pokers etc. Haven’t heard of water hose.

I don't want my water hose anywhere near my sewer hose.
