To Richardcoxid, you state your RV furnace is 40,000 btu, but that is the most input btu' the furnace the is likely about 78% like my 30,000 btu Suburban the output is only 23,400 btu. That would put your output at about 31,200 btu. We both have furnaces designed to heat our units. I find it interesting that I have a Cheap Heat system at 5,000 watts and 17,060 btu output as it is 100% efficient. This 17,060 btu has kept our 32' 5er comfortable in the low 20's by itself. Our 5er is currently insulated to three season standards. Belly is not inclosed, but the tanks have heating pads.
