Finally added the solar Next up, water storage

I took 1-1/2 hours out of my day to add solar to the 5th wheel. 100 watts. Hardest part was deciding where to mount the controller and how to run the wires to the batteries.
Next I'll be looking for a way to add more water storage. 40 gallons in a 26 footer just isn't enough.

    50 watts. A 50a panel would be a monster.
  • Debating solar. The one panel that Open Range sells, think it is a Furrion and think it is only 50 amp. Is the plug on say an Open Range a generic plug so most any panel will connect? For an example the panels from Harbor Freight.
    Thank you...
  • 100 watts won't be enough either, unless your power usage is very low. Carry extra water in the tow vehicle and pump it in.
  • How long are you going out there for? Water weighs around 8.3 pounds per gallon. Train your crew to use less water as an alternative.
