Flat screen mod

I mounted my 2 arm mount to some 3/4" red oak. Mounted the oak to the wall beside the fridge. The tv comes of in transit. All cables come through the cab above the fridge then through a hole behind the tv. The inv & dvd player is in the cabinet also.The wall will hold it fine but I just slip the tv off and put it on the bed when traveling. This is a perfect spot. Can be watched from every place in the living quarters.

I just received a monoprice dual arm monitor holder (LCD502) that I ordered earlier in the week. First off, there isn't going to be anything thick enough in our trailer to mount it too. While playing with it here in the house, I mounted our 26" television to it, weighs 13 lbs (mount is supposed to hold 33), and if the arms aren't directly left or right of the clamp, it sags/tilts a lot. I think I am going to have to go back to plan A or B.

I have a 32" screen on this articulating mount. The arm is through bolted to a piece of plywood. The screen is pushed inward for storage/transportation. I will have a strap around it for long hauls.

I bought an "el cheapo" off Amazon and it's been down several very bumpy roads, although only about 1000 miles so far. It's holding a 24" Vizio Razer LCD tv with LED backlight. The TV is extremely light, about 7 lbs, so I'm sure this helps. The TV is more or less permanently attached to the mount, I do not remove it when traveling.

The mount is screwed into a backing (probably chip-board like the rest of my rig) that is behind the wall paneling. I verified location and dimensions using a stud finder. I upgraded the tiny screws the mount shipped with to more substantial wood screws (#10 I believe)

Alot of LCD TV doesnt view well unless tilted down... My 22-24-26 inch VIZIO's is that way for sure...

I have also seen alot of high installs mounts work best if you put up a 3/4-inch large flat board on the wall first using a MOLLY type wall anchors in each corner or attaching the large wood piece to the thin wall studs somehow. Once the larger board is up then using regular wood screws into the 3/4-inch board to mount the LCD TV mount to... The trailer walls are very thin and you dont want the LCD TV mounts to pull out the screws from the wall.. One thing in your favor is the modern day TV don't weigh a whole lot like the older day ones did. You can paint the large mount board to match the trailer decor.


WALMART is a good source for different type of LCD WALL MOUNTS.
