Flat screen TV tiedown

I mounted a 40" on a swing arm in our MH. I mounted 2 cabinet pull handles on either side of TV up close to the top. Went to hardware store and bought 2" wide nylon strap and locking buckles. Loop strap through handles pull tight with adjustable buckles. I also put a second strap around the lower part of the screen. On the cabinet behind the TV I mounted 2 swim noodles so that when the TV is pulled tight it helps cushion and hold it in place. I used 2 straps because I didn't want the possibility of it coming loose and falling in our laps as we are driving down the road.

I use this method but the bungee cords are all hidden inside the old cabinet. I just pull the tv out slightly to release the bungee cords before I position the tv for viewing. The bungee hooks to the back of the tv mount.

I bought the below pictured swingarm for my front TV. I made a plywood box to fit into the old metal cabinet that the old TV was in. As you can see in this photo this swingarm as a spring loaded lock in it so when you push the TV back it locks in place. So I figured I would attach bungee cords to hold it in place and keep it from rattling on the road. After I installed it I took the motorhome for a drive without bungee cords on the TV and I found that it doesn't rattle at all and I needed nothing more than this locking mount to keep the TV locked firmly in place. The new LED TV's are so light it really doesn't take a lot to hold them.

Thanks for all the ideas. Will go back to the drawing board and come up with something that will work.

Mounted my new smart LED's using 1" X 2" soft pine boards covered with 1/8"
marine grade rubber. Installed TV's using just a soft "squash fit"

Because I couldn't find a new LED with front facing speakers, I connected the LED speaker output connections to the existing MH suround sound system.

The installation was easy except for lifting out the old CRT. Had to hire a local wrestler/bodybuilder.

mounted my 32in. on a swing arm,instead of tying it down it takes about 60 sec.s to remove it from bracket and lay it face down on the bed ??????

On my 2005 Alfa, I installed a 32 inch flat screen and used the lower half of the wood trim to keep the tv in place. I put small metal tabs on the back of the wood trim.

I just use four velcro straps. Been good for two years now.

We put plant hooks up on the side and use an adjustable duffel bag strap to tighten it between them.
