That makes sense. I'd stay from that alright.
We have ordered interlocking "rubber" floor squares like you would see in a gym or in a daycare. The reason is two fold. One, shoes are of the devil and once it warms up they are not on our feet until winter. Two, due to the desert and beach sand considerations I want to be able to remove the floor during clean up.
I found pretty nice ones on Walmart Online. Compared them to the ones available from Amazon and it appears that I can get solid color tiles that are nearly 1/2" thick. This will help insulate the floor, deaden sound in the coach and be squishy on our feets.
As for longevity and everyday wear .... I'll let you cats know.
