Front Cap Issue

The front cap on my 2007 Cougar has started caving in (small dents) while on the highway. Once stopped it slowly goes back to its normal shape but it has not always done this.

Any ideas on what I can do to stop this from happening? I take a lot of pride in our trailer, buff and wax at least yearly and have replaced the decals as they have faded, so this disfigure of the front does not make us happy.

Thanks for any thoughts!

  • Never heard of it but a little googling and it looks more common than I would have thought. maybe it goes un noticed for most because you can't see the Cap while driving.

There was a topic on here discussing it a few years ago:

    and over on IRV2:

General consensus is that it's the wind pushing against the thin fiberglass where there is a lack of structural support. Left unattended I imagine it would start to crack and really be an issue. Some mentioned trying expanding foam behind it.
