Going off the grid this weekend. Running fridge off propane. Don't need much else. 12v for lights is fine. However - it may hit 93 a few days. So got me to thinking of generators. From reading I think I can get away with running a 2500w-3000w min to power my ac only - as needed. Of course there are lots to choose from. I'd like it to be quite as possible for a good price. Also would like to be able to pick one up at the store. No time for shipping. Recommendations? I'm hoping to stay in $250.00-$300.00 price range?
Only thing you find in that price range are LOUD open frame construction type generators that are basically as loud as a lawn mower. No good for camping
You want an Inverter type generator. Champion makes a nice 2000w inverter genny for around $695. My daughter just bought the Champion 3400 to run her 15K AC in her fiver. Good luck.
