Project done! I used the 3M VHD tape on the bendable panel. It is approximateley 22x42 inches and I ran a strip of the tape all around the panel inset a quarter of an inch from the edges and two more on about 7 inch centers lengthwise. Total of four strips the length, two across the ends. Between the strips of tape I put down a reasonable amount of DICOR in a stripe between the tape.
This worked just like contact cement in a more conventional application. When that puppy went down on the roof deck, you were not going to move it. No second chances. I then caulked all around the panel with DICOR, forcing it slightly under the edges of the panel and also slightly on top of the panel, completely sealing the panel.
I wired the new to the existing panel and the results were absolutely what I had hoped. It was a bright, clear sunny day and about 82 degrees and I got 10amps out of the setup. That is enough for me to meet my needs and I think those that responded about the 3M product. The stuff is really pretty marvelous.
