Im not sure of your slide design but mine is sitting above the floor all the time. When it goes out on the 5 rollers that are attached to the fw floor it sits up so you step up a few inches. I tiled my floor and added reinforcements to the slide such as thin metal plates to the bottom of the slide because the rollers were pressing a groove into the cheap osb that the slide is made of. So at the inside edge of my slide i have bolts that had to stick down and can contact the floor tile. I use pieces of carpet under those areas as the slide comes in and tilts down.
My son tiled his floor but his slide is tge design that has plastic runners on the under side of the slide and they originally rode on the carpet as it came in. When his slide goes out it drops down so that it is flush with the rv floor. As he brings tge slide in he puts down carpet scrap for it to ride on.
I have damaged my tile by not positioning the carpet scraps correctly and not being careful. Its no big deal because i used the peel and stick tiles so individual pieces can be replaced as needed. Thats why I chose that style over snap together or sticky edge like most people choose
