Mine goes in the back of the pickup. I am kind of anal about having things in storage boxes/totes so they don't bounce around and get damaged or damage something else. Any drip pan spill would be contained in a container that I can wash out instead of making a mess on my pickup bed. You wouldn't know it from looking at my shop, but I really do like things to be organized!!
