OK, I'll give you the win that it's not a quick connect. To me it's a quick connect cause I don't need a wrench to attach and detach.
This has nothing to do with "winning" but rather clarifying so others reading this thread understand exactly what you did and why it's not recommended. A 1"-20 threaded fitting is high pressure, any quick disconnect propane gas fitting installed by trailer manufacturers is low pressure. In point of fact your mod is an extension of the trailer's high pressure tank feed and doesn't involve any low pressure quick disconnect fittings. If you had posted pics as you indicated in your first post that you may then it would have become instantly clear what you actually did. :)
The Stay Flow was intended to stay on the trailer permanently. The hose (and my stainless line) was not intended to stay on the trailer when not in use, which somewhat pre-supposes when the trailer is in transit too.
Well I guess we'll have to agree to disagree - that Stay Flow adapter is
not intended to be permanently installed. I'm also not "pre-supposing" anything, as you said in your original post -
"So I completed the installation of a 3/8" stainless steel tubing h.p. line from the propane tank to the gas grill location. I managed to get the tubing from point A to point B with no couplings or unions. By the time I got it all bent and in place it was kind of a Houdini act!"That to me sure indicates a permanent installation. :R Regardless, it's your trailer, you can obviously do what you want ... my only objection is that others reading this may want to do the same mod without understanding the drawbacks. And yes, I did this same mod years ago to my own KZ Spree and of course it "worked fine" ... but I removed it after just one trip, realizing that running a high pressure gas line along the underside of the trailer was neither recommended nor would ever meet code.
