The single hitch mount may be great for a static load or even on the back of your pickup. Placing on the back of the fiver, the hitch goes through much more stress due to bouncing. I realized this when following behind fivers and after seeing the damage that my aluminum bike did to my ladder after a cross country trip.
I carried a tool box on the back of a formerly owned fiver with two EU 2000i generators but mounted on two 2" receivers instead of one. Still checked it frequently for cracks that could be catastrophic.
