Bumper and frame reinforcement then bolt the gen to the mount. Bumpers are thin plus the leveraged bounce of gen.
If you want the ultra deluxe set up, wire in a transfer switch and probably 10 gauge back to the gen. If you have remote start its even better.
Put a few layers of difficulty in removing it. Use torx and then bolt a plate over that. As others have said, anything can be gotten but the easiest fruit is picked first. Yes it's a PITA if I need to remove it but that's the price we pay.
I have a 3000 that I removed the 2 bottom plates on and drilled holes in them with bolts going through the truck bed then built a metal vented and fan powered enclosure with a padlock. So the enclosure lock has to be cut, the enclosure has to be unbolted and the bolts under the gen removed by two people. One under the truck and one up in the bad feeling around blind for the bolts that are spinning. Then there is also the alarm.
