House/Chassis battery switch lights

The chassis and house battery cut off switches in our Winnebago have miniscule green lights built into the face of the switch. They are virtually impossible to see unless you get your face right in front of the switch and shield the sun with your hand. Being down in the step well makes it even harder. I found it was easy to get a bright red 12 volt pilot light (from eBay) and, after finding the two wires that go hot when the battery was on, hook it up and mount it adjacent to the matching switch. Much less likely for me to forget to shut off the batteries now with the red light shining. Turning off the batteries has become really important now that so many components have computer-based controls that are never really off... If you look REAL close at the coach battery switch you'll see the faint green light on it.

Yes. I am sure it is not lighted.

There is also no printing on the switch other than OFF and ON. The printing is on a plaque that is screwed to the wall above the switch.
  • Bobbo...are you sure it doesn't have that faint green light and you just never noticed it?

Mine doesn't have any kind of lights. I just have to know if I have turned it off or on.

However, if you want an indicator light, that is a simple but effective solution.
