Has anyone replaced the frosted halogen ceiling lights with LEDs? We have both the 5" and the 3" sizes.
I have replace the 1141 bulbs outside with LEDs, but the 23 halogens inside the trailer are death to battery if we get forgetful and turn them on while off shore power.
This is a round fixture, that is 12 VDC. The same store sells many 12 and 110 - 285 volt fixtures, so make sure you are getting the right voltage.

I have 4 each 24 5050 LED panels in my bathroom, total of 96 LED's inside the original fixture, and it is bright enough. It draws about 1/2 amp at 12 VDC, and total cost of 10 panels was $26,50. These lights are a bit more expensive at around $30 each, but I guess a 18 watt florescent fixture would be the same cost, so you can decide to convert or not.
Recently I bought 25 more of the 24 LED panels for only $42.

Yes the light output is a little more blue than I expected, but the price is much less, and amperage is much less - about 25% of the old fixtures. Overall I am very happy with them, and ordered some 9 LED bulbs to replace the 14 running lights on my RV, mostly to save to many amps going through the headlight switch.
