The 36 and 48 LED panels use the 3528 LEDs, the 24 LED panels are available with either the 3528 or the 5050 LEDs. The 5050 LED are brighter than the 3528s, being 3 LEDs in one. They are also considerably warmer but still nowhere near as hot as an incandescent bulb.
I like the 36 panels, they are about the same brightness as the 1141 incandescent bulbs and IMHO are the best compromise between brightness and current drain. I think the 24 3528 would be too dim and the 24 5050 panels would be as bright as the 48 3528 panels.
There is also the color, I prefer warm white. I suggest you buy a couple of the type you think would suit you and try them before buying many.
