Jayco-noslide, What type of incandescent bulb are you looking to replace? There are LED lights available for almost any incandescent bulb. There is no need to replace the fixture.
There are several choices.
Panel or cob type. The panels stick on to the existing light fixture and direct the light down. Good for overhead lighting. The cob lights simply plug into the socket and are multi-directional, good for storage spaces.
Regulated or non regulated. The regulated ones have a voltage regulator built into them and are useable over a wide voltage range. They also cost more and some have been found to cause interference with radio and TV.
Color temperature. Incandescent bulbs are warm white. Some prefer the white which are like fluorescent bulbs.
The lights are made mainly with 2 types of LEDs, the 1210 (aka 3528) and the 5050. The 5050 has 3 individual diodes in each package. IMHO, the 5050 is about 2x as bright as the 1210 and draws about twice the current as the 1210.
IMHO, the 36 1210 are about as bright as the 1141 incandescent bulbs, and draw about 0.2A instead of the 1.4A that the 1141 bulb draws.
AFAIK, the individual LEDs are made in China. The lights you buy in the US may be assembled in the US with Chinese LEDs. They will cost more. IMHO, the difference between a $3 and $30 light is greed, assuming the same brightness.
Edit: corrected typo.
