Hunter Thermostat--Thinking about this installing this mod

Question for those who have done this mod a few years ago. Have you discovered any downside effects from mod? I'm thinking, the a/c may cycle more often. Wear & tear on the a/c? Any regrets? What ...

I used a Dometic LCD thermostat. Works great but less features and more money.
It does control the hi/low fan automatically :)
