If the inverter is installed such that it may be feeding existing 120v wiring in your coach, some inverters will smoke if the negative side of the 12v wiring is also connected to the neutral (white or ground) wire side of the coach's 120v system. I've personally fried 2 inverters before I discovered this. If you want to feed inverter output to your 120v outlets, you must have a 2 pole transfer switch or relay to break both the hot and neutral legs of your coach's 120v system before connecting to the inverter output. There are some inverters that will tolerate this condition but they usually say they have "isolated" outputs.
