Nice. I would love to see more photos so I could steal er borrow your ideas. Especially how you mounted it and where you got it.
I took an of the shelf fan mounting box like this one

I removed the bezel from the skylight, and drilled pilot holes in the surrounding aluminum frame and attached the the box arms with self tapping screws.
Prior to this I spray painted the box and the arms in the similar creme/off white color my ceiling is. I was able to push wires through from the air conditioner wiring box to the skylight and also to the ceiling light. At the box I ran the wires inside the channel created by the box arms. I drilled an access hole close to the ceiling light and ran wires from there to the light.
I wired a surface mount light switch (like this one
https://www.menards.com/main/maintenance-repair-operations/lighting-electrical/wiring-connecting/surface-mount-raceways/white-on-wall-metal-switch-kit/p-1444447139106-c-9801.htm0) into the 12V circuit to turn the van on and off. I did not wire the reverse option into the circuit, because it is meaningless in the position this fan is located.
I did have to cut the bezle out some to allow for the arms that hold the box.
I hope this helps to explain how I did it. Please don't hesitate to ask for more info if you want it.
