Hi guys, I'm wanting to set up an inverter so I can run power off of my battery bank and solar. I had a 2000 / 4000 peak inverter that I had been using, but was tired of not having my outlets work...

With presumably no power draws of any kind, an inverter that works, then we must determine if your shore power cord is faulty.
