LED Light Strip - 3528 or 5050 LED's?

The 5050 has 3 LEDs in the same package while the 3528 has 1 LED in the package. IMHO, the 5050 is about 2X as bright as the 3528 and draws about 2X the current.
A strip of 5050 with the same number of 5050s as a 3528 strip has 3528s will be about twice as bright and also draw about twice as much current as the 3528 strip. Depending on the series resistors used, there may be wide variations in strips made by different manufacturers.
