LED light strip

I was thinking about adding one of these under my power awning but not sure about how to conceal the wiring. Cougar 327 Fifth Wheel. I guess you need to get the controller either in the storage compartment or go thru the wall into a cabinet. Anyone have any tips? Unless you can just hook it up when you want to use it if they have a plug connection.
  • I mounted my light strip under the awning and ran the wires down the awning arm. if you have a power awning, open it up and there was a plastic strip inside the awning arm that pops off that hides the wiring already there for the power awning.
  • Mine came with approx. 3 feet of power cord and I used a white extension cord to use to plug it in. I used little wire clips that are double faced taped to my awning arm. Mine are 110 volt.
  • Also you can mount the water proof ones under the RV gives it a nice glow .. as long as there are no LIGHT POLICE... LOL
  • I have some LEDS but have yet to wire them up like this.

Went to an RV show recently and it seemed like every awning had LEDs underneath these days!
  • I planned this out last season then ordered the parts over the winter. I am placing the controller in the wall behind the porch light. IR sensor will go into the lens. The wiring to the LED strip is concealed in surface-mount raceway.
  • How I did mine ---> I have a over head cabinet that is behind the passenger side seat.. I drilled from the inside out up in the top front corner and feed the wires to where I mounted the 18' LED strip under one of the paint stripes under where the awning rolls up..(that way I can use the led strip with the awning our or in).. I tapped into the outside porch light switch for power and put Velcro on the led remote as to keep up with it... I hid all the wires and control box with a hide box where I drilled the access hole.. filled in the hole with color matching silicone and works GREAT... multicolor LED with multi flash or solid patterns. Hope this helps..

I drilled a small hole into a cabinet. I sealed the hole and put white duct tape over the small wires and hole. You have to look hard to see it and when the duct tape wears out, I'll put new on.
