Liquid Rubber instead of Liquid RV Roof?

I've found a 5 gallon unopened pail of Liquid Rubber for sale here locally, with the catalyst for a steal of a deal. I know this doesn't have quite the elasticity of the Liquid RV Roof. Does anyone know if it's a significant difference? Anyone used it? FWIW, it'd be going on a 24' Class C.

I'm talking 1/3 the MSRP for this 5 gallon, so it'd really be worth it, IF it'll work!

More important?? Does the roof of your RV actually need a new coat of anything?

Yes. it's a 23 year old rig. The roof has been cared for, but it's definitely time for a fresh coat.

Dutch, yeah that's what I'm finding too.

I think the biggest issue is the stuff I found is black, not white. I might eat up most savings by repainting it white. Ugh.

EDIT: nope, looks like I just have to use latex. Certainly not expensive.
  • Over the years, a number of people on various forums have reported using the Liquid Rubber version on their RV's with no problems. I don't think there's enough difference in the two products to prevent it from working well, and the price is certainly attractive. The only issue I can think of might be the shelf life, but I don't know what the acceptable limits on that are.
