You have 48v 100 ampHr
Or is it 200 ampHr? - 2oldmanExplorer II

I just have the one 'jar'. A/C, about 1300 watts. That would be 1300w/50v=26a. With solar assist I can run this many hours, and I have on the road.
2oldman what is the maximum load you are putting on the LI jars? - ependydadExplorer

I'm in the process of installing lithium batteries in my camper.:)Just purchased two 100 amp Battle Born batteries.I've got a 2000 watt Go Power inverter/charger along with 6oo watts of solar on the roof.
I'm right in the middle of rewiring things for the inverter/charger and adding battery monitoring displays.
This coming camping season will be interesting and a learning process. One of the benefits of lithium is that they can be recharged from my generator very quickly. They can accept 60+ amps from the charger and be fully recharged in a couple of hours. I guess we'll see if that's true!
I’ve seen my Progressive Industries charger push 40-60amps into my 400amp Battle Born battery bank. The bank happily accepts it. - pianotunaNomad III2oldman what is the maximum load you are putting on the LI jars?

It should be, provided your charger can be configured for Li.

There is an eBay seller in Fremont, Calif
$399 for 100 ampHr at 12v using new 2015 Chevy Volt battery cells reconfigured
That's 1/2 to 1/3 the price for retail drop in replacements
He does specify they need bms and charge adapters, that he has available
Here also does 12v 200 ampHr, 12v 50 ampHr
48v etc.. - Surviver76ExplorerMr W, you are correct as I am intrigued by the relatively cheap price and do wonder if it would indeed be a good deal... Hard to say without checking it out in person and even then I know next to nothing about the new technology... Tricky!
- MrWizardModeratorWithin a couple hours drive
I might have driven to look at it
When i bought my AGMs , i took a day trip to Oceanside,Ca
Went down, inspected and tested the batteries, bought five of them, loaded up and drove back to L.A.
A Chevy Volt, battery for $300, is definitely interesting
I think they use a different cell construction than Tesla
I think they use large 'pouch' cells to build the battery
I've been watching a lot of electric vehicle vids, and diy power storage vids
Trying to get more insight on the tech involved - Surviver76ExplorerThanks guys.. very informative and I am of the same opinion. Cost!
Found a guy on CL who is selling an Ion batt for 300.00 he said was pulled from a salvage Chevy Volt but he is in a different city from me and wanted to mail me the batt sight unseen. No thanks..
